Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-08-10 · Effective: 2026-08-10

These Terms are an agreement between you and Kristopher Nicholas Sovers ("WorthAStop," "we," "us") covering the WorthAStop app. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not, do not use it.

1. Who can use WorthAStop

You must be at least 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the app with a parent or guardian involved.

2. What WorthAStop is, and what it is not

WorthAStop shows you places worth stopping for along a walk between where you are and where you are going, with a short piece of writing about each one.

It is a discovery tool. It is not a navigation app, a safety service, or an emergency service. See section 7.

3. No account, and the purchase

WorthAStop has no account and no login. Your settings, saved walks and stamps live on your device.

The app is free and includes one free city. A single one-time purchase unlocks the rest. It is not a subscription, it does not renew, and there is nothing else to buy. The purchase is handled by Apple, and you can restore it on another device through the same Apple account using Restore purchases in Settings.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, not by us.

4. Acceptable use

The spot data is the work behind this app. You agree not to:

5. Content, accuracy and corrections

Spot information comes from public sources and our own writing. We work to keep it right, but we do not guarantee any detail is complete, current or error free, including opening hours, prices, whether somewhere is open, and descriptions. Check anything time sensitive before relying on it.

Every spot has a report row that opens your mail app so you can tell us what is wrong. If you send a correction, you give us permission to use and edit it and to incorporate it into the app, without payment or credit. A person reads every report. We are not obliged to act on any of them and may reject any that look inaccurate, abusive or spammy.

6. When you leave the app

Some taps hand you to another app or website: Apple Maps for directions, a place's own website, or Wikimedia Commons to see a photo's credit and licence. Those services are not ours. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

We earn nothing from any of these links.

7. Safety, and not relying on the app

You are responsible for your own safety and your surroundings. Do not let the app distract you from traffic, terrain or hazards.

We do not check that any route, path, area or spot is safe, open, accessible, or legal to enter. Follow local law, posted signs and your own judgement. WorthAStop is not a substitute for paying attention, and it is not professional navigation.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design, its written content and the WorthAStop name are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app for its ordinary personal use. Everything not granted is reserved.

Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and remain under their own licences. Each photo is credited on its card, and tapping the credit opens the source page with the photographer and the licence.

9. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

Our total liability for any claim about the app will not exceed the greater of what you paid for it or five US dollars.

11. Your responsibility

If your misuse of the app, or your breach of these Terms or of the law, causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of it.

12. Changes

We may change or discontinue the app, and we may update these Terms. If a change matters we will update the date at the top and post the new version at worthastop.app/terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Bernardino County, California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
