WorthAStop

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-10 · Effective: 2026-08-10

This policy explains what WorthAStop does with information. It is short because the app does very little with it.

WorthAStop is made by Kristopher Nicholas Sovers ("WorthAStop," "we," "us"). It has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server that stores anything about you.

1. The short version

The sections below are the detail.

2. Location

If you allow it, WorthAStop uses your device's location to show where you are on the map and to find walks and spots around you.

Location is used only while the app is open. The app never asks for background location and cannot see where you are when it is closed.

Your location is never transmitted. It is used on your device and nowhere else. We do not receive it, store it, or keep any history of where you have been. There is no server for it to go to.

You can refuse or withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. The app still works: set a starting point by hand instead, though finding what is around you will be limited.

3. What is stored on your device

Your unit preference, saved walk, current city, downloaded cities, and passport stamps are stored on your device by the app. So is the record that you have bought the full unlock.

None of it is sent to us and none of it syncs through us. If you have your phone's own backup turned on, this data may be included in that backup under Apple's control and its privacy policy, not ours. We never receive it.

To delete it, delete the app.

4. What the app downloads

The free city's spots and its map ship inside the app. Everything else, meaning any other city you open and the photographs on every card, is downloaded when you need it. The app requests those files from two addresses we operate:

These are plain requests for fixed files. They carry no account, no identifier, and nothing about you. A request from your phone is indistinguishable from anyone else's request for the same file.

As with any request to any website, your device's IP address is visible to our hosting provider, Cloudflare, in the moment it serves the file. We do not keep logs of those requests.

5. Purchases

The one-time purchase that unlocks the rest of the cities is handled entirely by Apple.

We do not receive your payment details, and we do not receive a record of your purchase. Your device asks Apple whether the unlock has been bought and stores the answer locally. Nothing about the transaction reaches us. Apple handles payment under its own privacy policy.

6. When you email us

Each spot has a report row that opens your own mail app with a message prefilled: the city, the place, which version of the data you were looking at, and the app version. It contains no location and nothing identifying you. Nothing is sent until you send it.

If you do send it, we get whatever your mail app sends, which includes your email address, because that is how email works. We use it to read the report and reply about it. We do not add it to any list and we do not use it to market anything.

Please do not put personal or sensitive information in a report. Tell us about the place.

7. When you leave the app

Some taps hand you over to another app or website. When that happens you have left WorthAStop, and what happens next is covered by that service's own terms and privacy policy, not ours:

We do not receive anything back from any of them.

8. What we do not do

Stated plainly, because for this app the list of things that do not happen is the more useful list:

9. Children

WorthAStop is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. If you believe something here is wrong, write to report@worthastop.app.

10. Where you live

Privacy laws in California, the EEA, the UK and elsewhere give you rights over personal information a company holds about you: to see it, correct it, delete it, or object to its use.

We hold none. There is no account, no profile, and no record of you on any system we run, so there is nothing for us to look up, hand over, correct or delete. That is not a refusal, it is the design. The data the app holds is on your device, under your control, and deleting the app removes it.

We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.

If you think we hold something about you, write to report@worthastop.app and we will tell you what we find.

11. Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and post the new version at worthastop.app/privacy. If a change ever meant we started collecting something, we would say so plainly rather than bury it here.
